The engagement is a custom internal portal for a capital markets firm operating in a regulated environment. The team's core operating challenge was a recurring reconciliation process that consumed roughly forty hours a week of senior staff time, every week, indefinitely. The work was high-stakes, repetitive, and structurally hard to delegate. We built the portal that replaced it. The client, the specific market, and the operating numbers stay private because of the regulatory environment and a client preference for confidentiality.

The reconciliation process had grown organically over years, held together by spreadsheets, email threads, and the memory of two senior staff members. It worked. It also cost a full week of senior capacity every week, with no path to scale and no graceful handoff to a junior. Hiring more analysts didn't help; the workflow itself was the constraint. The cost of leaving it alone was a permanent ceiling on what the team could take on.

The portal replaces the recurring forty hours with a same-day workflow. Data inputs flow through a structured intake, the reconciliation logic runs in the database, and the senior staff review and approve instead of compile from scratch. The team got its week back. The capacity that opened up is now spent on the work that actually requires senior judgment. The build compounds week over week because the saved time keeps coming back.
